Aprender Inglés: El uso de linkers en los ejercicios de writing
En la Escuela de Idiomas de la Cámara de Bilbao nos esforzamos para mejorar la riqueza gramatical y lingüística de nuestros alumnos.
Por eso, queremos recordaros la importancia que tiene el uso de linkers o conectores en los ejercicios de writing de inglés. Éstos, no sólo son importantes para la redacción sino que también nos pueden servir de ayuda a la hora de expresarnos verbalmente o, incluso para sacar un mejor resultado en los exámenes de speaking (dan puntos en los exámenes oficiales de Cambridge;)).
Los Linkers son palabras que conectan una idea o frase con con otra de manera lógica. Dirigen el discurso del escritor y guían al lector a través de sus pensamientos. Su función es muy importante ya que ayudan a describir a una persona, un lugar o un objeto.
También sirven para ordenar un discurso cronológicamente uniendo unos hechos con otros. A menudo, se emplean para comparar o contrastar ideas y nos sirven para describir y explicar imágenes mostrando las ideas principales.
A continuación, os dejamos una lista de conectores que esperamos que os sean útiles a la hora de escribir un essay. Podréis recurrir a ella cada vez que lo necesitéis:

| time | at once, immediately, meanwhile, at length, in the meantime, at the same time, in the end, when, then, as, before that, after that | indicates time and frequency of events | The war started and the country was left immediately. |
| addition | and, also, even, again, moreover, further, furthermore, similarly, in addition, as well as | adds ideas in support of the main idea | I hope you have a great day as well as I had yesterday. |

Además, os proponemos un ejercicio mental muy sencillo que os ayudará a memorizar estos linkers de manera entretenida:
Trata de explicar en voz alta cuáles van a ser tus planes para este fin de semana y compáralos con los planes que hiciste el fin de semana anterior. Intenta enlazar unas frases con otras utilizando el mayor número de conectores posibles.
